Образец ответа по теме "Holidays" для учащихся 4-х классов :

1. I' d like to talk about British holidays. I know some British holidays . They are Christmas, New Year's Day, St Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day, April Fools' Day, Easter Sunday, Mothering Sunday, Father's Day, Halloween. They celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December, they celebrate New Year's day on the 31st of December and on the 1st of January, they celebrate st Valentine's Day on the 14th of February, they celebrate st Patrick's Day on the 17th of March, they celebrate April Fools' Day on the 1st of April. Easter Sunday is in late March or early April. Halloween is on the 31st of October.

2. People of different countries celebrate Christmas. British people are usually very busy weeks before Christmas as they go shopping and buy food and presents for their relatives. They usually buy a Christmas tree and put it in their home. They decorate a Christmas tree with lights, balls, sweets, tinsel. People send Christmas cards to relatives and friends. Parents usually put presents under the Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, families open their presents. Some children hang up their stockings so Santa Claus (Father Christmas) can put sweets, fruit and small presents into them. Many people go to church on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. British people make their traditional Christmas dinner. They make Christmas pudding, turkey or goose, pies and many other tasty things.

3. Boxing Day is on the 26th of December. This is the time to visit relatives and friends or watch one of the many sporting events.

4. American people celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It is on the fourth Thursday in November. On this day American families gather together and enjoy being with their nearest and dearest. They always have a roast turkey for dinner. They thank god for every blessing and every thing they've got in their life. There is another important holiday. It is Independence Day. American people celebrate it  on the 4th of July.

5. Russian people celebrate a lot of holidays. The most important one is Victory Day. We celebrate it on the 9th of May. On this day in 1945 our country won the Great Patriotic War and World War II against nazists.

6. One of the most favourite holidays is New Year's Day. We celebrate it on the 31st of December and on the 1st of January. Traditionally, on the 31st of December we decorate a fir-tree. I like to see New Year in very much. I always get presents from my parents on this day. We have a tasty dinner. There are lots of tasty things on our table. Among them are different kinds of salad, pelmeni(dumplings with meat), fruit, sweets, and a cake. We always have a party at school and invite our relatives for dinner. Russian people decorate streets, shops, offices and their homes weeks before New Year.
