Вопрос: Что означает конструкция there is / there are ?

На русский язык конструкция с there is/ there are переводится с конца, с обстоятельства места или времени. Если это в прошедшем или будущем временах, то "was/were/ will be" переводятся обязательно.

Не забудем, что после конструкции there is нужно ставить существительное в единственном числе(если оно исчисляемое, то с артиклем a(n) - a house, an apple; если существительное неисчисляемое, то употребляется местоимение some: some milk, some time).

There is a house in the street.

There is some coffee in the cup.

There are twelve students in the room.
