Пунктуация

Остановимся только на употреблении запятой, потому что  различие между русским и английском языком в отношении знаков препинания проявляется главным образом в этом. Правил довольно много, вот лишь некоторые из них.

Запятой отделяются:
1) однородные члены предложения, при этом в отличие от русского языка, запятая ставится часто и перед последним членом перечисления, введенным союзом and или or: I have a living-room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

2)  обстоятельственные придаточные предложения, если они стоят в начале предложения перед главным.

 Если придаточное следует за главным, то оно запятой не отделяется: 

When I finish my work, we'll go for a walk. 
но: 
We'll go for a walk when I I finish my work.
3)  причастные и абсолютные обороты, стоящие в начале предложения:
The rain having stopped, we went for a walk. 

4)  вводные слова или выражения для отделения их от остальной части предложения:
Well, I like this. 
By the way, I also need money. 
However, nobody drank much. 

5)  части сложносочиненных предложений, соединенных одним из сочинительных союзов and, but, for, or, nor, while (в значении but): 
I dictated the letter, but she didn’t put it down correctly. 

6)  для отделения вопросительной части в разделительных вопросах:
You saw this film, didn't you? 
They haven't come today, have they? 
7)  пояснительные слова от прямой речи, если нет других знаков препинания:
He asked, "How long will it take you?"

 Правила написания и структура письма 

   

     Одним из обязательных умений, проверяемых на экзамене, является умение написать личное письмо (письмо другу) в ответ на письмо "англоговорящего друга по переписке".  

     Написание письма на иностранном языке является несложным заданием, которое необходимо выполнить достаточно быстро ( за 30 минут).

 Итак, рассмотрим правила написания личного письма. 

     В правом верхнем углу укажите свой адрес (он может быть любым) в следующем порядке:                                       

                                                                           номер дома, название улицы                                                                                  город  

                                                                           страна   

       Допускается указывать адрес в кратком виде, например: 

                                                                           Moscow 

                                                                           Russia   

      Под адресом, пропустив строку, необходимо написать дату письма:                                                                               May 5th, 2019

                                                                        или: 

                                                                       5 May 2019 

                                                                       или: 

                                                                      05/05/19 

     Письмо начинается с неофициального обращения. Если в задании не указано имя вашего друга по переписке, его следует придумать:  

      Dear Ben, 

      Dear Jane, 

     После обращения обязательно ставится запятая! 

     Разделите текст письма на несколько логических абзацев, каждый из которых начните с красной строки. 

1. В первом абзаце вам следует поблагодарить своего друга за его письмо - в этом абзаце важно упомянуть о том, что у вас были предыдущие контакты с вашим другом по переписке. Необходимо использовать слово recent или again, или фразу 

I am always glad to get letters from you. 

Thanks (a lot) for your recent letter.

 I was glad to get a letter from you again. 

It was great to hear from you again. 

It was great to hear that... 

Вы можете также извиниться за то, что не писали раньше: 

Sorry I haven't written for so long but ...

Sorry I haven't been in touch for so long. 

I'm sorry I haven't answered earlier but I was really busy with my school. 

и/или упомянуть какой-либо факт из полученного письма: 

I'm glad you did well in your Maths test! 

Sounds like you had a great time in London! 

Great news about your...! 

2. Основная часть письма 

 (2-3 абзаца). В ней вы должны ответить на все вопросы, заданные в письме-стимуле. Личное письмо пишется в неформальном стиле. Необходимо использовать 

1. слова-связки:  
You know, ...  - Знаешь ли, ...
By the way, ... - Кстати, ....
Actually, ... - Вообще-то, ...
So, ... - Итак, ... 
Luckily, ... - К счастью, ...
Unluckily, ... - К несчастью, ... 
Anyway, ... - Во всяком случае, ... 
Well, ... - Ну, ... 
As for (the weather), ... - Что касается (погоды), и 
2. разговорные выражения: 
Guess what? - Представляешь! 

Wish me luck! - Пожелай мне удачи! 

Oh, and another thing!  - И ещё одно! 

How are things with you? - Как у тебя дела? 

3. Старайтесь использовать не только простые, но и сложные грамматические структуры: 

⧫ пассивный залог вместо активного, например: 

   активный залог: My friends invited me to.... - Мои друзья пригласили меня на ... 

   пассивный залог: I was invited to... - Меня пригласили на...

𑂽 сложное дополнение: My parents wanted me to start... - Мои родители хотели, чтобы я начал...   

𑂽 сослагательное наклонение: I wish my summer holidays were longer... - Жаль, что летние каникулы такие короткие. 

4. Используйте лексические конструкции: 

𑂽 be worth seeing: The Hermitage is worth seeing. Эрмитаж стоит посетить.

𑂽 feel like doing: I feel like going to the cinema tonight. Мне хочется пойти в кино сегодня вечером. 

5. Используйте более интересные прилагательные, чем их простые синонимы:

 𑂽 вместо interesting  - terrific, fascinating, entertaining, exciting, educational

 𑂽 вместо boring - tiring, complicated, monotonous 

 𑂽 вместо bad - disappointing, depressing 

 𑂽 вместо good - unforgettable, wonderful, unbelievable, gorgeous 

3. В последнем абзаце (это может быть третий или четвёртый абзац) вы указываете:  

𑂽 причину, по которой вы заканчиваете письмо  - Well, I must finish now because I have to do my homework. 

𑂽 надежду на будущие контакты - Write me soon. / Keep in touch! 

4. В конце письма необходимо написать завершающую фразу на отдельной строке:  Best wishes, / All the best, / Love, / With love, / Yours, 

5. На последней строке поставьте подпись - ваше имя: 

George / Kate (точку ставить не надо).

Do you approve of keeping wild animals as pets or not, why? What pet do you have or would you like to have?…

Write her a letter and answer her 3 questions.

Write 100–120 words. 

Remember the rules of letter writing.
