I'd like to give a talk about my school. I study at Gymnasium 21. It is a state secondary comprehensive school. It gives free 11-year secondary education. It takes children of all abilities from different backgrounds. The access is universal but the number of vacancies is limited. The school can be proud of their qualified staff (the teachers are clever and well-educated here). A number of different subjects are taught at the school. They are History, Maths, Russian, English, German, French, Literature, Geography, Biology, Physical Education, Handicraft, Arts, Music, Social Studies.
My favourite subject is English as, firstly, it is a global language (I mean people of different nationalities speak English). Secondly, English can be very useful. When you lose your job, it will be easier for you to find a new one. Besides, English has become fashionable. You can see different English names, phrases and even poems on clothes. Moreover, English is the main language of all lyrics in songs.
By the way, there are some clubs at my school. They are the English Drama Club, a singing club, a dance club and some others. As for me, I am fond of singing and I attend our singing club. I learn a lot of new things at the club. So, I can say that I like my school because, firstly, it's a three-storied building and it is quite spacious. There are many classrooms here. Secondly, I've got a lot of good friends here. Thirdly, I am keen on studies. Moreover, our teachers are really well-educated. To sum up, I shoud say that our school is a place where children sudy with excitement and hope.

I'd like to give a talk on my family. Our family is not large. There are four of us. We are my mother, my father, my brother and me. My mom's name is Natasha. She is a nice woman. She is tall and fair-haired. She works as an accountant. I think she is hard-working. My dad's name is Andrei. My dad is a turner. He likes his work very much. My brother's name is Mitya. He is a little boy. He doesn't go to school yet. We have got a pet. It's a dog. Its name is Cherry. It is a funny clever dog. It likes to run, jump, play games with us. I think our family is very friendly. We like to do a lot of things together. When it's warm, we usually go on outings and enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery. We have a picnic in the open. In winter we have our family New Year party. We all do our best to please each other and give each other presents. My dad and I sometimes go to the cinema and watch a new film. Besides, we both like sports. My dad goes jogging and I often join him. I think my parents and I are different people. We have different opinions on many problems. But we don't quarrel. We talk a lot and try to find the right way out of any situation. I'm sure my parents understand me. I hope they will help me if I need their help.

I'd like to give a talk on hobbies and interests people have. I think it is really important to have a hobby because, firstly, if you have a hobby, it keeps you busy, develops your mind. For example, if you are fond of reading, you become an interesting person. People will never feel bored when they talk with you. Secondly, it is important to have a hobby because you become a well-rounded person and it won't be difficult for you to get a new profession and to find a new job. Besides, if you have a hobby, you can join a club and meet new friends there.
As people have different talents, they have different hobbies. Some people may be very active and sporty. They go in for risky sports, such as mountain climbing, sky diving, BMX (bicycle motocross). For example, my dad is fond of going hiking. Other people may be interested in history or writing stories. My mum is fond of cooking.
Like other people, I also have a hobby. It is taking pictures. I always take pictures of different places when our family travel to other countries. But I'd like to take up a new hobby. It will be collecting traditional Russian wooden dolls - Matryoshkas. I hope it will help me learn more about Russian traditions. That's all I wanted to say. Thank you for listening.
