Dear 11th graders!
Let's memorize the new words:
I benefit
1. benefit , v - 1) (T) to bring advantages to someone or improve their lives in some way: "Using public transport greatly benefits the community";
2. benefit from/by sth, v (I) - be helped by something: "How do individuals benefit from using public transport?" - "I think they greatly benefit from using public transport as, firstly, they save their time; secondly, they stretch their family budget.
II benefit as a noun:
1) (C,U) something that gives you advantages or improves your life in some way:
"an aid program that has brought lasting benefits to the region";
"have the benefit of" : "She has had the benefit of a first-class education".
III foster, v - help sth develop: "Public transportation fosters the growth of business districts and shopping malls".
