Card № 1  

You are going to give a talk about your school. 

Remember to say:  

- what your typical school day is like;  

- what your favourite subject is, and why; 

- what you like most about your school.     

I'd like to give a talk about my typical school day. My typical school day starts at 6.30. I get up, go to the bathroom, take a shower and get dressed. I usually have a cup of tea or coffee, eat some porridge or salad. I often take an apple or an orange with me. I eat them at school later. My school is far from my place, that's why I usually take a bus and go to the school. It takes me 15 minutes to get to the school. My first class starts at 8 a.m. We often have 6 classes. There are 4 breaks 15 miunutes each. After the third class we have lunch at our school canteen. I often eat some salad, porridge or potatoes with meat or fish. 

My favourite subject at school is Literature. I like it because, firstly, I am fond of reading stories, novels and poems by Russian and foreign authors. Secondly, our Literature teacher is a very interesting person. She knows her subject well. I like listening to her talk. She always tells us something interesting. 

Most of all, I like to meet my friends at school. We often talk, discuss news and laugh a lot. I get along with all of my classmates well. We sometimes go to the cinema or theatre together. Besides, I've got my best friend here. Her name is ... . I always invite her to my birthday party and we have fun.

I'd like to give a talk on greeting cards in Russia. I don't think it's a common thing to send greeting cards in Russia because, firstly, people are sometimes lazy and they don't care about buying or sending greeting cards. Secondly, the Internet and the mobile phone have replaced the tradition of sending greeting cards. 

However, some Russian people still send postcards to their relatives. There are special family birthday cards which people send to their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and cousins. Traditional cards usually have pictures of flowers or beautiful scenery on them. Besides, there are cards with humorous cartoons.

I don't think greeting cards have changed. You can buy such cards in a bookshop, at a newsstand or in a corner shop. 

Russian people don't send  sympathy cards or get-well cards.

 As for me, I like to get greeting cards but I rarelly send such cards to my relatives or friends. Sometimes I make a greeting card myself.

Косвенный специальный вопрос (Wh-question).

Задание для учащихся 6-х классов от 2 февраля 2017 года:  

Привожу примеры перестроения прямого специального вопроса в косвенный специальный вопрос.  

Прямой вопрос:

 Anna asked, "What do you like to drink, Bob?"  

Косвенный вопрос: 

Anna asked Bob what he liked to drink.  

Убираем вспомогательный глагол do, 

присоединяем вопрос с помощью того же вопросительного слова - what, меняем лицо местоимения - you - he, 

ставим смысловой глагол like в Past Simple - liked 

(правило согласования времён). 

Прямой вопрос: 

The teacher asked, "What places did you visit last summer, children?" 

 Косвенный вопрос:  

The teacher asked the children what places they had visited the previous summer.   

Убираем вспомогательный глагол did, присоединяем вопрос с помощью тех же вопросительных слов  - what places,

 меняем лицо местоимения - you- they, 

сдвигаем смысловой глагол на одно время в прошлое  - 

visited  - had visited, 

заменяем выражение last summer на выражение the previous summer. 

 Прямой вопрос: 

Jack asked, "Where will you go next week, Tom?" 

Косвенный вопрос:  

Jack asked Tom where he would go the next week.  

Присоединяем вопрос с помощью того же вопросительного слова - where, меняем порядок слов, 

меняем лицо местоимения - you - he, 

заменяем вспомогательный глагол будущего времени - will - would,  заменяем выражение next week на выражение the next week.  

Задание: Перестройте данные прямые специальные вопросы 

в косвенные специальные вопросы. 

Используйте правило согласования (сдвига времён):  

1. Nick asked, "Why do you watch TV so much, Jane?"  

2. Father asked, "What film did you see yesterday, Bill?"  

3. The teacher asked, "How many words have you learnt, Mary?"

 I'd like to tell you about the things I did yesterday. Yesterday I got up at half past six. Then I did my morning exercises. After that I went to the bathroom and took a shower, cleaned teeth and washed my face and hands. I had breakfast at 7 a.m., put on my school clothes, took my schoolbag, said "Good-bye" to my granny and went to school. 

My classes started at 8 a.m. I had 4 classes yesterday. My favourite class was Maths. I liked it because I could count well and I solved all the problems. I had lunch at 9 a.m. I had some salad and a glass of juice. After classes I went to my sports club where I spent 1 hour. I came home at 3 o'clock. I took off my jacket and school clothes. Then I had dinner. After that I did my homework. Then I went for a walk. I watched TV. I went to bed at 10.30.
